Quincy Launches New Promise Program
August 31, 2015
A new Quincy program will provide graduates of local high schools with tuition at John Wood Community College. The Quincy Promise applies to associate’s degree or certificate programs at the college. $300,000 will go into the program over the first four years. Applicants must be first time college students and must attend JWCC one year after high school graduation. Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore said, “if you are in high school today, we want you to stay in our community, develop a skill set and find a life-fulfilling career, right here in Quincy.” 50 students are expected to participate in the first year, with up to 100 by the fourth year.
Applications will be accepted September 15 – February 1.
