More Evidence of Skilled Employees Shortage
August 21, 2015
We all have heard how we will not have enough skilled workers to replace those that are retiring soon. Dean Thier of Fourinox in Green Bay, WI had this to say: “We have been struggling to find skilled workers and fabricators for several years now. Most of the guys we bring in have a lackluster approach to learning new things and do not have any enthusiasm in the work they do. Showing up for work is another thing that seems to not be on the list of important things to do.”
He goes on to describe his aging workforce and fears the loss of skill and knowledge that will follow. That is why it is so important to get your training as rapidly as possible, to excel in that training, and to place yourself in a firm such as his that will place a high monetary value on your training, capabilities and attitude.
